The bike has a 2 / 4 WD + Diff Lock, reverse, hi/lo range transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 27x11-R14 front tire and a 27x9-R14 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Hydraulic Disc in the front and a Hydraulic disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Double A-Arm. The wheelbase was 75.0 inches (1905 mm) long.

The 2012 Arctic Cat Prowler 1000 XTZ delivers great across sand dunes or wet forest trails: thanks to its generous ground clearance and top-drawer long-travel independent suspensions, this quad can easily tackle obstacles in the way.
The 951cc V-twin engine is coupled to an automatic dual-range transmission, switchable 2/4WD, engine braking and electric differential locking. A sturdy roll cage is standard for increased safety, while the rear cargo box allows a hefty 600 lbs (272 kg) loading capacity.
With an underhood watertight storage, the 2012 Prowler 1000 XTZ is perfect for longer adventures off the road, too. On the functional side, this ATV comes with 2-inch hitch receivers in both rear and front, and a wide accessory range can expand both functionality and looks.
