The BMW K 1600 GT Special Edition was a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line six cylinders, DOHC Sport touring motorcycle produced by BMW in 2012. Max torque was 129.08 ft/lbs (175.0 Nm) @ 5000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 159.05 HP (118.6 KW) @ 7500 RPM.

A 78.7mm bore x 78.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1649.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-ZR17 front tire and a 180/55-ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc, EVO, ABS in the front and a single disc, EVO, ABS in the rear. The front suspension was a Duolever while the rear was equipped with a Paralever.

The 2012 BMW K 1600 GT Special Edition comes standard with a number of features and technologies that make it a little more sportier, as well as improve comfort and its long haul capabilities. The Tyre Pressure Control (TPC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), the adaptive headlight, as well as an audio system that has an integrated GPS device, Bluetooth and radio software come as standard, and differentiate this special edition from the base K 1600 GT.

At its heart lies the same, powerful, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1649cc, in-line six cylinder powerplant as on the base model, and it can produce 160 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque.
