The BMW R 1150 GS Adventure Special Edition was a air/oil-cooled, four-stroke, boxer twin cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder Adventure motorcycle produced by BMW in 2005. Max torque was 72.28 ft/lbs (98.0 Nm) @ 5250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 85.02 HP (63.4 KW) @ 6750 RPM. It could reach a top speed of 190 km/h / 118 mph.

The engine was a Air/Oil cooled cooled Four stroke, two cylinder horizontally opposed Boxer, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 10.3:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Single disc dry clutch, hydraulically operated.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/80 R19 front tire and a 150/70 R17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 304mm discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 276mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Light. Telelever with central spring strut, progressive coil spring, twin-tube gas-filled shock while the rear was equipped with a Patented BMW Paralever swing arm & shaft drive, single shock with variable rebound and damping adjustments. The R1150GS Adventure Special Edition was fitted with a 30 Liters / 7.9 US US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 232 kg / 511 lbs. The wheelbase was 1,501 mm / 59.1 in long.

The R 1150 GS Adventure Special Edition sports an air/oil-cooled, four-stroke, 1130cc, two cylinder boxer powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a shaft final drive and can reach a maximum power output of 85 horsepower and 98 Nm of torque.

This machine boasts a special, white and blue paint scheme, as well as blue finishes on its rims, its single-piece, dual seat and on its front fork. Also, it has been stripped down, for a cleaner overall look. In all other aspects, it has the same features and specs as the base model.
