Overview[edit | edit source]

Benelli TNT R160

The 2010 R160 is the pinnacle of Benelli’s naked motorcycle line, boasting not only the most power in the TnT class, but it’s also laden with tons of tasty carbon bits. Benelli has coaxed 155hp (up from 137hp) out its 1130cc triple, which puts the R160 right in-line with the Ducati Streetfighter power-wise, but R160 is still a little bit heavy, with a dry weight of 458lbs, and a curb weight of 474lbs. The design of the Benelli is its biggest attraction, and of course there’s also the unique three-cylinder motor. Maintaining the same TnT lines, the R160 gets a healthy dose of carbon fiber,

The Benelli model is powered by the same 1130cc engine of the current TNT but features extras including a dry-slipper clutch, 50mm fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and Brembo monobloc calipers.

At the heart of the R160 is a three-cylinder engine developing 155hp at 10,200 rpm and 120Nm of torque at 8,400 rpm.

Unique to the R160 is the chassis that consists of a main section of a steel trestle completed by aluminum cast structure in the area of the swing arm pivot.

Aluminum-alloy wheels offer a five-spoke design, while the exhaust pipes follow precisely the forms of the engine before merging at the bottom and climb back towards the tail, located between the rear fender and the thin taillight unit.

As for the tires, the one at the front is in the usual measure 120/70, while at the rear you can choose between the 190/50 or the two additional measures, 180/55 and 200/50, the latter particularly suitable for use on the track.

Customers can choose between two colors, the white with red frame and red with frame mat gray titanium.

“Overall performance: it is the slogan that summarizes the essence of the more sporty Benelli model, a model without compromising on power and efficiency of driving, on public road and on track freedom. Born on the Roadster Cup Race, the R160 is a hymn to the performance, thanks to a three-cylinder engine in its most refined, and chassis that is enriched with adjustable suspensions: giving you a pleasure to get best lap time or enjoy the most beautiful mountain roads,” Benelli brags.
