The Big Bear Choppers Athena Chopper has first been designed for the Discovery Channel Biker Build-Off televised competition, which it won in the end, and went on to become one of the models available for purchase from the BBC. Certain design features, such as the Devil's Tail swingarm, a rear fender to match the bold design of the swingarm, and a stretched frame ensured its televised award, and seriously increase its desirability among BBC fans, and not only.

At its heart lies a 1819cc, BBC-S&S V111 Carb Evolution powerhouse paired to a six-speed, manual transmisison with overdrive and can produce 116 horsepower and 167 Nm of torque. This particular engine is suited for the more nostalgic among riders, thanks to the unique sound and feel a carburetor offers.
