The Bimota YB8 Furano was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 5 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Bimota between 1992 and 1993. Max torque was 73.76 ft/lbs (100.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 164.01 HP (122.3 KW) @ 10500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1002.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 230mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable mono-shock.
1992 Bimota YB8 Furano[edit | edit source]
The 1992 MY Bimota YB8 Furano was, at its time, considered one of the best sport-bikes in the world, thanks to its tuned, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1002cc, transverse four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, that produces 164 horsepower and 101 Nm of torque.
It also had race-grade parts such as an Ohlins suspension package, with an upside-down, adjustable, fork and an adjustable mono-shock in the rear, Brembo brakes with dual discs in the front and a single disc in the rear, a full-fairing, a large windscreen, a single seat and an analogue instrument cluster.
1993 Bimota YB8 Furano[edit | edit source]
The 1993 MY Bimota YB8 Furano comes with race-inspired features, such as the Ohlins suspension package, with an upside-down, adjustable, fork and an adjustable mono-shock in the rear, Brembo brakes with dual discs in the front and a single disc in the rear, a full-fairing, a large windscreen, a single seat and an analogue instrument cluster.
In the tech/engine department, the Italian engineers have fitted it with a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1002cc, transverse four cylinder powerplant paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 164 horsepower and 101 Nm of torque.
