The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17, Pirelli Scorpion front tire and a 180/55 ZR17, Pirelli Scorpion rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single 375mm ZTL-type disc, 6-piston caliper in the front and a single 230mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Showa adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa adjustable, low-mounted, mono-shock. The wheelbase was 52.01 inches (1321 mm) long.

The 2006 MY Buell XB9SX Lightning City X Limited Edition has been limited to 300 units, and features orange translucent body panels, black handlebars, hand-guards, headlight grille, number plate bracket and wheels, a Buell X air box guard, supermoto-inspired braced handlebars and Pirelli Scorpion Sync tires make this one of the most sought after machines from the American brand.
In all other departments, it has the same features as the base model. At its heart lies an air-cooled, four-stroke, 984cc, pushrod V-Twin powerplant paired to a five-speed manual transmission and can reach a maximum power output of 92 horsepower and 97 Nm of torque.
