The Cagiva River 500 was a single cylinder, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Cagiva between 2000 and 2006. Max torque was 30.24 ft/lbs (41.0 Nm) @ 5500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 32.86 HP (24.5 KW) @ 6400 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 92.8mm bore x 73.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 497.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/80-zr17 front tire and a 140/70-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 40mm Marzocchi upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a adjustable Boge mono-shock. The River 500 was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 352.74 pounds (160.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 54.72 inches (1390 mm) long.

The 2000 MY Cagiva River 500 is one of the least-known machines from the Italian brand, and was designed as a fuel-efficient and agile daily commuter, that can also take on weekend strolls. It has features such as a 40mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic front fork, an adjustable mono-shock as a rear suspension, die--cast aluminum wheels, Brembo brakes in the front and in the rear, a twin-spar frame, a dual seat and a small windscreen. Furthermore, it can be accessorized with side-panniers for more storage capacity.

In the engine department it sports an air/oil-cooled, four-stroke, 497cc, single cylinder powerhouse mated to a five-speed manual transmission and can produce 34 horsepower and 44 Nm of torque.
