The Can-Am/ Brp DS 90 X was a air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2008 and 2015.

A 48.3mm bore x 48.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 89.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a CVT, F / N / R transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a Kenda Claw 20 x 6 x 10 in front tire and a Kenda Claw 18 x 10.5 x 8 in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual hydraulic disc brakes in the front and a single hydraulic disc brake in the rear. The front suspension was a double A-arm, HPG Piggyback while the rear was equipped with a swingarm, HPG Piggyback. The wheelbase was 39.02 inches (991 mm) long.

The 2007 Can-Am DS 90 X brings nifty race-specced upgrades for the discerning rider and is probably the first firm step in the off-road racing world. New, piggyback reservoir shocks with generous travel are fitted to provide a firmer ground contact and better damping for the really hard landings.

The 2008 Can-Am DS 90 X is the the upgraded version of the DS 90, and has been designed for harder riding in race conditions. HPG piggyback shocks ensure the bets damping and a smoother ride on rough terrain, while upgraded springs are capable to handle landings better over and over again.

Brakes have also been upgraded to hydraulic discs and the raised handlebars provide better control when the rider is standing on the race-spec kick-up pegs. The 2012 Can-Am DS 90 X is a very nifty racing quad for kids aged 10 and up, sporting all the character its bigger siblings have, but in a diminutive package. This ATV sports an easy-to-use automatic gearbox, so it will be rider-friendly even for the kids who are aboard it for the very first time: an intuitive forward-neutral-reverse lever switches between the three modes in just a split second.

HPG piggyback shocks and aluminum wheels complement the racing-specced nerf bars and hydraulic disc braked for both rear and front, all offering top stability and performance. The aluminum front bumper come with a number plate, too, so the 2012 Can-Am DS 90 X is really ready for the dirt race track. Unlike the base DS 90, the 2015 MY Can-Am DS 90 X comes standard with 41" wide swingarm with HPG piggyback shocks, hydraulic front and rear brakes, black-finished aluminum wheels, a race-derived Square handlebar pad, an aluminum front bumper with a number plate, a 1" handlebar riser block and nerf bars for a more comfortable grip, which make for a more gritty, maneuverable and yet, user-friendly all-terrain vehicle.

At its heart lies an air-cooled, four-stroke, 89cc, single cylinder lump mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
