The Can-Am/ Brp MX-1 was a Rotary valve, two cycle, single cylinder Rotax Trial motorcycle produced by Can-Am/ Brp in 1974. Claimed horsepower was 19.98 HP (14.9 KW) @ 9500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

A 53.3mm bore x 53.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 123.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi plate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.00-21 front tire and a 4.00-21 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Single leading shoe in the rear. The front suspension was a Betor telehydraulic while the rear was equipped with a Girling hydraulic. The wheelbase was 54.02 inches (1372 mm) long.

1974 Can-Am/ Brp MX-1[edit | edit source]

The MX-1 trial bike has a 125 cc engine and weighed 210 lbs. First released in 1973 in 125 cc and 175 cc variations, a 250 cc was added in early 1974. The Can-am’s were recognized for their quality of craftsmanship and for some of their innovations; one of which was an adjustable steering head. The entire steering head can be rotated allowing you to adjust the rake from 25-31 degrees.
