The Can-Am/ Brp Outlander 1000 XT was a V-twin, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve (4-valve/cyl) ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2012 and 2013.

Engine[edit | edit source]

A 91.4mm bore x 91.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 976.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 2w/4w shaft driven with Visco-Lok front differential transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 26 x 8 x 12 front tire and a 26 x 10 x 12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a Single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent. The wheelbase was 59.02 inches (1499 mm) long.

The 2011 Can-Am Outlander 1000 XT is the next step in performance for the liter-class Outlander series: it beings the triple-mode Dynamic Power Steering system which offers several assistance modes for various terrain types, providing better directional control and less fatigue.

The Outlander 1000 sports automatic dual-ratio transmission and offers selectable 2/4WD. The Visco-lock QE automatic differential locking, engine braking and generous ground clearance ensure safer steep descents and good off-road capabilities.

It also boasts dual generous luggage racks, a water tight storage compartment and a wide variety of accessories, and you get a wonderful off-road adventure machine. A powerful winch is also in place to help you when the going gets really tough.

The 2012 Outlander 1000 XT is the biggest ATV in the XT series, a beast with top-class maneuverability thanks to the Dynamic Power Steering system. This system offers a more precise cornering, a less fatiguing riding experience and overall better maneuverability regardless of how rough the ground you ride on is. No less than three assistance modes are available at a push of a button, for quickly complying to the road demands without losing control of the ATV.
