The Can-Am/ Brp Outlander 650 was a V-twin, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve (4-valve/cyl) ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2011 and 2013.

A 81.3mm bore x 81.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 649.6 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 2w/4w shaft driven with Visco-Lok QE auto-locking front differential transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 28 x 8 x 12 front tire and a 28 x 10 x 12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a Single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent. The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

The 2010 Can-Am Outlander 650 is an ATV which links the middleweight machines to the big-bore segment. It comes with increased power and toque, but the maneuverability and other characteristic features are intact, so it will be a fun an unintimidating experience for pretty much any rider.

The 2011 Can-Am Outlander 650 XT is the better-endowed version of the base 650 model, sporting several upgrades which will add functionality and make riding it in rough places more fun. The 650 XT boasts heavy-duty front and rear bumpers, mudguards, three-way adjustable dynamic power steering, a wired remote WARN winch with integrated remote storage and good-looking black cast aluminum wheels.

On the tech side, the 649cc v-twin engine is coupled to a dual-ratio automatic gearbox and sports selectable 2WD/4WD shaft drive, engine braking and auto-locking front differential. The dual luggage racks can accommodate up to 135 kg of gear and their functionality can be expanded with optional accessories.

The 2012 Can-Am Outlander 650 is a recreational ATV which can double as a work-related tool: it packs a lot of off-road-oriented features by retains all the maneuverability of a vehicle created for even, paved roads. Thanks to the revised pivot points in the chassis geometry, the 2012 Can-Am Outlander 650 offers better directional control and better stability through corners, providing a safer ride.

The aggressive design is backed up by performance-oriented engineering: the 2012 Can-Am Outlander 650 is powered by a 650cc-class v-twin power plant, coupled to an automatic, dual-ratio transmission and offering selectable 2/4WD. Obstacles are negotiated with ease thanks to the Visco-lock QE automatic differential locking, while the engine braking ensures safer steep descents. Luggage racks and a watertight storage compartment increase the range of applications for the 2012 Can-Am Outlander 650.
