Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 26 x 8 x 12 front tire and a 26 x 10 x 12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a Single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent. The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

The 2012 Can-Am Outlander MAX 800R DPS is a two-up fun machine loaded with nifty features to make your off-road adventures as comfortable and safe as possible. To make things just as convenient, too, this ATV comes with a convertible passenger seat which allows the rear rack to accommodate more luggage or a cargo box. Multi-position passenger hand grabs are included in the package, with improved foot rests for better grip.
Three-way adjustable dynamic power steering offers unprecedented direction control with less fatigue even on the roughest of tracks, while selectable 2WD/4WD and high/low ratio for the automatic gearbox provide all the necessary adaptability. Add in the powerful 800cc Rotax v-twin engine, auto-locking front differential and the comprehensive digital instrumentation for a great all-rounder machine.
