The Can-Am/ Brp Renegade 500 was a V-twin, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve (4-valve/cyl) ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2006 and 2013.

A 81.3mm bore x 81.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 499.6 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 2w/4w shaft driven with Visco-Lok front differential transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 25x8x12 front tire and a 25x10x12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a Single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent. The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

With a Rotax 500 H.O. EFF V-Twin engine, this Can-Am ATV has Visco-Lok 4x4 front differential, strong, lightweight, surrounding Spar Technology (SSTTM) frame, separate brakes and a compact, digital multi-function gauge.

Created for both even and rough ground, it's the changing terrain where the 2012 Can-Am Renegade 500 shows its real potential. Even more, if you like your trail riding rough, this quad is just the right machine for sporty, aggressive riding: it boasts a revised Surrounding Spar Technology chassis which offers better handling, while the independent suspensions have been engineered to withstand the hardest abuse.
If you plan to take the 2012 Can-Am Renegade 500 for a longer adventure you should know it can accommodate only 16 kg of gear: the rest is up to you and your backpack. This ATV can also be used to various outdoor chores as it can tow as much as 590 kg.
