The Ducati 1098 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2007 and 2008. Max torque was 89.99 ft/lbs (122.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 159.98 HP (119.3 KW) @ 9750 RPM.


Intro[edit | edit source]

For 2007 Ducati dropped all previous superbikes and introduced the 1098. It was availabe in two models, the 1098 and the 1098 S. The 1098 is very likely to be the world's most powerful v-twin. It features the Testastretta Evoluzione engine, along with traditional Ducati features such as underseat exhaust and single sided rear swingarm. It has onboard datalogging features and the first one piece Brembo calipers ever on a production bike.

A 104.1mm bore x 104.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1099.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 330mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiO-coated while the rear was equipped with a Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.





2007 Ducati 1098[edit | edit source]

The 2007 MY Ducati 1098 is in its first year of production and has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1099cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 160 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque.

This new machine from Borgo Panigale also comes with a full-fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a digital instrumentation display, a two-piece, dual seat, an under-seat, dual exhaust system, cast-aluminum wheels, dual headlights, Brembo brakes and a Showa suspension package composed of a 43mm fully-adjustable upside down fork with TiO-coated sliders and a fully-adjustable monoshock with a progressive linkage in the rear.


2008 Ducati 1098[edit | edit source]

The 2008 MY Ducati 1098 comes with features such as a full-fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a digital instrumentation display, a two-piece, dual seat, an under-seat, dual exhaust system, cast-aluminum wheels, dual headlights, Brembo brakes and a Showa suspension package composed of a 43mm fully-adjustable upside down fork with TiO-coated sliders and a fully-adjustable monoshock with a progressive linkage in the rear.

In the engine department it sports a four-stroke, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, 1099cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, that can produce a claimed 160 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque.
