A 106.7mm bore x 106.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1262.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Light action, wet, multiplate clutch with hydraulic control. Self-servo action on drive, slipper action on over-run.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 R17 front tire and a 190/55 R17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 320 mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted monobloc Brembo callipers, 4-piston, 2-pad, with cornering ABS as standard equipment in the front and a Single disc 265 mm, 2-piston floating calliper, with cornering ABS as standard equipment in the rear. The front suspension was a 48 mm fully adjustable usd forks while the rear was equipped with a Fully adjustable Sachs monoshock unit. Remote spring preload adjustment. Aluminum single-sided swingarm. The wheelbase was 62.4 inches (1585 mm) long.

For 2018 model, the Ducati Multistrada gets an upgrade with the new Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 cc engine, more advanced electronics and new chassis. The update chassis, with a longer swinging arm and wheelbase and revised geometry up front and ensures full stability even when riding two up at full load.
