The Ducati 999 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2003 and 2007. Max torque was 75.24 ft/lbs (102.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 140.0 HP (104.4 KW) @ 9750 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/50 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Showa upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The 999 was fitted with a 4.09 Gallon (15.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 410.06 pounds (186.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.
