The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic control.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiN-coated while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The Monster S4RS Testastretta was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.69 inches (1440 mm) long.

The 2006 MY Ducati Monster S4RS Testastretta is the first naked machine to be equipped with the new Testastretta engine, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, fuel-injected, 998cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse, paired to a six-speed manual transmission, that can reach a maximum power output of 130 horsepower and 105 Nm of torque.
