Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the multiplate with hydraulic control.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins fully-adjustable monoshock. The Paul Smart 1000 Limited Edition was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.1 inches (1425 mm) long.

The 2008 MY Ducati Paul Smart 1000 Limited Edition has, at its heart, a four-stroke, air-cooled, fuel-injected, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse, mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can reach a maximum power output of 92 horsepower and 91 Nm of torque.
This machine is quite unique, boasting a design that closely resembles the machine rode by Paul Smart in the Imola 200 race, back in April, 1972, which he won. It has a blend between modern technology and parts and a classic design, that is sure to appeal to the collector's among Ducati fans, as well as the more nostalgic ones.
