The Gilera front fork is made like an aircraft landing gear with a large diameter telescopic unit steered by a yoke and a single aluminum leg carrying the stub-axle. This front suspension type is similar to that found on the Yamaha GTS1000. The rear suspension unit is laid out more traditionally. Its complexity comes from mounting the transmission and disc brakes on the same side similar to the Honda Pro Arm. These features are very expensive and unusual to be incorporated on such a small capacity motorcycle.
