Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a monoshock.

The 1990 MY Gilera SP 02 125 boasts standard fittings such as die-cast aluminum wheels, a full-fairing with a windscreen, a steel, trellis frame, a single seat with lumbar support for the rider, a telescopic front fork coupled to a rear monoshock, front and rear disc brakes, analogue instrumentation dials and a race-inspired paint and graphic scheme.

In the engine department it is powered by a two-stroke, liquid-cooled, 124cc, single cylinder powerplant that was mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can reach a maximum power output of 30 horsepower and 20 Nm of torque.
