The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, Twin Cam 110 Valves Pushrod-operated, overhead valves with hydraulic, self-adjusting lifters; two valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 9.6:1 compression ratio.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 130/70R18 front tire and a 200/50R18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 292mm disc 4 piston caliper in the front and a Single 292mm disc 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41.3 mm telescopic, chrome "beer can" covers while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm Mild steel tube sections, forged junctions; MIG welded; color-matched to vehicle rear shocks Hidden, horizontal-mounted, coil-over. The FLSTSE3 Softail Convertible CVO was fitted with a 18.9 Liters / 5.0 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 328.41 kg / 724 lbs. The wheelbase was 1630.6 mm / 64.2 in long.

The Harley-Davidson® CVO Softail® Convertible is a limited-production custom motorcycle that can be configured for all-day touring, two-up cruising or solo profiling by adding or detaching key components, which can be easily removed or installed without tools.
The Softail® rear suspension mimics the clean lines of a vintage hardtail frame but offers the comfort of modern suspension that is hidden under the chassis.
The Harley-Davidson® CVO Softail® Convertible is a limited-production custom motorcycle that can be configured for all-day touring, two-up cruising or solo profiling by adding or detaching key components, which can be easily removed or installed without tools.
The Softail® rear suspension mimics the clean lines of a vintage hardtail frame but offers the comfort of modern suspension that is hidden under the chassis. The rigid powertrain allows tight packaging of the engine and frame and creates a solid connection between the rider and the power that moves the motorcycle.
CVO Softail Convertible: Detachable compact fairing, saddlebags, passenger pillion and backrest make it possible to transform the CVO Softail Convertible from touring to cruising format in minutes. For 2012, a redesigned windshield significantly reduces turbulence to the rider and integrates a Road Tech zumo 660 GPS Navigator with an MP3 player. Turn-by-turn voice commands play over the two-speaker audio system. The detachable leather saddlebags match the seat and passenger backrest in either distressed brown leather or black leather with reptile inserts. A welded mini-ape handlebar adds a custom touch. Electronic cruise control, keyless ignition and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) provide touring functionality. Three new color combinations are available.

Each 2012 CVO model is powered by the fuel-injected Twin Cam 110 V-Twin, the largest-displacement engine offered in a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, rated at up to 122 ft. lbs. of torque. This engine is only available from the factory in CVO models. CVO motorcycles are customized using premium accessories and paint treatments combined with numerous items from the Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories catalog. The CVO program is often used to introduce new custom components and techniques before they are offered as individual accessories. Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycles are backed by a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
