The engine featured a 9.7:1 compression ratio.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 150/80B16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 292mm disc 2 piston calipers in the front and a Single 292mm disc1 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 39 mm forks while the rear was equipped with a Coil-over; preload dual-adjustable. The XL120050 50th Anniversary Special Edition was fitted with a 12.5 Liters fuel tank. The bike weighed just 253 kg.

Harley Davidson XL 50 50th Anniversary Sportster Limited Edition
Marking the evolution of a hot rod, the 50th Anniversary Sportster honors the family heritage with a special 1200cc model sure to stun on the street. With the new standard Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) system, new gauges and handlebar wiring, the 50th Anniversary Sportster stands out in the tradition of previous commemorative Harley-Davidson models. Special features include gold "50th" tank emblem, serialized bar clamp nameplate with "50th" logo, "H" logo silk screening on side cover and embroidered seat marking 50 years of production. Paying tribute to a legend, the Anniversary Sportster is offered in two appropriate commemorative colors, Mirage Orange and Vivid Black. Production will be limited to 2,000 motorcycles.
