The added A in the name of the 1999 ST1100A Pan-European stands for ABS. Honda adds the anti-locking brakes to this acclaimed road-tourer to meet the higher safety demands of those who prefer the enhanced stability of the bike on slippery surfaces.

On the tech side, the ABS is the only modification for the Pan-European, and the bike retains the full road compliance of the base model, with the same generous tanks and lockable, detachable color-matched sidecases, and offering sporty riding character with exceptional comfort.

The 2000 ST1100A is the ABS-equipped version of the amazing Honda road-tourer. With a sporty performance and plenty of power on tap, it was only natural that some riders went looking for more security while on two wheels. So Honda upgraded the stopping force with the addition of anti-lock brakes, supplementing the already efficient Linked Braking System (LBS).

Even more, the bike comes with traction control, helping riders get the best of their machines, even when the riding conditions are less than favorable.

Honda only knows too well that power without control is a very bad combination, and offers an ABS-equipped version of the widely-acclaimed Pan European. The 2001 ST1100A Pan European ABS retains all the touring comfort and long-distance riding features which have made so many riders love the bike.

However, alongside the proven linked braking system, the anti-locking brakes now provide a shorter stopping distance and more stability when braking on difficult, slippery roads. The bike brings for the same sport-touring feeling, but with more peace of mind.
