A 71.1mm bore x 71.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 346.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 3.25-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via drum in the front and a drum in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a swingarm.
1951 - 1958 IZH 49[edit | edit source]
The 1951 IZH 49 sports an air-cooled, two-stroke, 346cc, single cylinder engine paired to a four-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 11 horsepower at 3200 rpm. This machine came standard with two one-up saddles, the passenger one being fender-mounted, laced wheels, a dual exhaust system, a large headlamp, a telescopic front fork, a rear swingarm suspension and a drum braking system. This was the first motorcycle from the Russian engineers that could be purchased with a sidecar, and is considered to be a replica pf the German DKW NZ 350.
