The Kawasaki GPz400 was a in-line four, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 1983 and 1989. It could reach a top speed of 109 mph (175 km/h). Max torque was 25.08 ft/lbs (34.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 49.89 HP (37.2 KW) @ 10500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 55.0mm bore x 42.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 100/90-18 front tire and a 110/80-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Cartridge while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm. The GPz400 was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank.

The Kawasaki GPZ 400 is long, narrow and relatively lightweight, making for quick, responsive handling. The Kawasaki GPZ 400's suspension’s a bit budget and nearly always needs replacing on older models but does the job. Brakes likewise. The front end’s a bit frisky on bumpy roads but, overall, it’s incredibly easy to ride and very forgiving.
