The Kawasaki KLX450R was a single cylinder, four-stroke Enduro motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 2008 and 2019.

Engine[edit]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 96.0mm bore x 62.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 449.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit]

The bike has a 5-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit]

It came with a 80/100-21 front tire and a 120/90-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a usd air oil separate systems cartridge-type telescopic fork with 22-way compression and 18-way rebound damping adjustment while the rear was equipped with a new uni-trak with gas-charged shock absorber which features adjustable spring preload, 22-way rebound and 22-way (low speed) compression damping and 2 turns or more of high speed compression adjustment.. The KLX450R was fitted with a 2.11 Gallon (8.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 992.08 pounds (450.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.27 inches (1480 mm) long.

The 2008 Kawasaki KLX450R is an off-road and trail motorcycle which can be relatively easy transformed into a street-legal machine. Unlike other off-road machines, the 2008 KLX450R comes with an industry-standard headlight and a tail/ brake light, as well. All one needs to add are blinkers and a license plate, provided all homologation goes well.

This bike is loaded with a lot of nifty features such as an electric start, fully-digital comprehensive and compact, easy-to-read instrumentation, while the 5-speed gearbox ensures easy tackling of pretty much any terrain. The 2011 Kawasaki KLX450R is a trail/ off-road bike which can also be used for dirt or motocross racing. Its powerful 449cc engine produces a heap of torque throughout the whole rpm range so it can be used for pretty much any fun or sporty activity involving the absence of asphalt.

However, given the fact that it already comes with a headlight and rear fender brake/ tail light, adding blinkers and a license plate holder could get you a road homologation and transform the bike into a real dual-sport one
