The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was a in-line four, four-stroke Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 2004 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 185 mph (297 km/h). Max torque was 52.22 ft/lbs (70.8 Nm) @ 11000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 123.51 HP (92.1 KW) @ 13500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 67.0mm bore x 45.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 636.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. floating discs. optional abs. in the front and a single disc. optional abs. in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm inverted showa sff-bp fork with top-out springs, stepless compression and rebound damping, adjustable spring preload while the rear was equipped with a bottom-link uni-trak with gas-charged shock, top-out spring and pillow ball upper mount. compression damping. The Ninja ZX-6R was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 421.3 pounds (191.1 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.

The 2003 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has also been manufactured in a 599cc, RR version. The Ninja RR comes with less power and the same sporty looks and feeling.

With a stronger engine compression, the 2003 ZX-6RR might feel a bit more nervous, though. However, it is still a great bike to be ridden daily across the city, since the riding position is more comfortable than that on a racing bike.

The RR model comes with an 18L tank, allowing the rider to have a lot of fun before having to refuel. The bike has been designed to comply with the rigors of racing conditions, and pushing it hard will be a most rewarding experience for the skilled rider.

The 2004 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has also been manufactured in a 599cc, RR version. The bike has the same sporty character as its slightly bigger sibling, but the power specs are a bit lower.

Basically we're looking at the same motorcycle ready to scorch the race track asphalt and still useable in the city for daily commuting and less high-paced fun. The pressed aluminum frame surrounds the engine and keeps the mass as close to the bike's center as possible for easy handling and fast turns.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has received a refined tuning for 2006. The 599cc liquid-cooled, In-line four-cylinder, 16-valve engine now sports a revised exhaust valve angle and better intake ports for enhanced combustion and better fuel efficiency.

The exhaust pre-chamber underneath the engine allows the use of a smaller and lighter silencer under the seat. Given its high position, the lighter construction also helps lowering the center of gravity for better balance in fast, sharp turns.

The CofG is also lowered by the introduction of upside-down forks, with the springs completely submerged in oil for better damping and less frothing. 300mm petal brake rotors are now 6mm thick for a firmer , more controllable and dependable stopping force adding to the overall confidence.

The 2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 599cc sport bike in the Kawasaki middleweight segment. The frame of the 2008 model is based on the ZX600P model, but went under further refinement for increased rigidity, while the die-cast aluminum 2-piece sub-frame allows for a very compact and slim rear end.

The 2008 ZX-6R engine has been tuned for a more useable mid-range segment and this makes the bike easier to handle at lower rpm, thus suitable for city rides as well. The 2008 version has also received redesigned instrument cluster and a new exhaust look. Being more than 10kg lighter than the previous models, the 2008 ZX-6R comes with more grit for more thrilling fun.

Adjustable Showa suspensions and a racing-type steering damper are standard equipment for safer riding on multiple road surfaces.

The 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 599cc sport bike. The 599cc displacement has first been used in the 2002 RR model, and has remained unchanged until 2010.

Both the front and the rear suspensions are adjustable and this increases the grip according to needs and loading. The bike comes in Passion Red, Metallic Spark Black, Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black.

The 599cc engine comes with digital advance, digital fuel injection and dual injectors per each throttle body for smooth power delivery across multiple rpm ranges. The front forks are adjustable and the rider can choose between multiple stepless settings for the optimal response and performance.

One can both ride the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R on a race track and commute daily, as the mid-range rpm has been tuned for city riding as well.

The 2010 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 599cc sport bike. The 599cc displacement has first been used in the 2002 RR model, and has remained unchanged until 2010.

While being also suitable for daily rides to work and fun around the city, the 2010 Ninja ZX-6R is a racing-bred machine. The engine is digitally-injected and comes 2 injectors per each throttle body. The pressed aluminum perimeter frame helps for better mass centralization and enhanced steering.

Both the front and the rear suspensions are adjustable and this increases the grip according to needs and loading. The bike comes in Lime Green / Ebony, Ebony / Flat Black, Candy Plasma Blue / Ebony.

The 2011 Ninja ZX-6R carries on the tradition of Kawasaki's middleweight sport bikes, bringing together an aggressive attitude and advanced technologies for a better ride.

The 599cc 4-in-line engine is placed in the middle of a twin spar aluminum frame for better feedback and a centralized mass resulting in better balance and easier handling. The Showa BPF (Big Piston Front) suspension ensures optimal adjustability for obtaining the best possible grip on multiple surfaces.

An Öhlins steering damper comes as standard equipment, dramatically improving both safety and riding pleasure, while the anti-hopping clutch makes sure the rear wheel stayin on the ground during hard downshifts.

The 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R comes with a brand new four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four valves per cylinder, inline four engine that displaces 636cc, 36 more than the previous generation. It produces 131 horsepower and a maximum torque of 71 Nm. This new engine has been tweaked to enhance the low to mid range torque, making it more suitable for the open road, as well as the track.

A new power mode selector on the left clip-on gives the rider a choice between 80% engine output in "low" setting or 100% in the "high" setting. The three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), also a new addition to the ZX-6R, offers a choice between maximized acceleration, performance with minimal wheel slip or a special mode that prioritizes slip elimination, ideal for wet/slippery road conditions.

The clutch has also been redesigned with assist and slipper functions, based on racetrack testing and rider feedback. Brakes are redesigned as well, with some new, highly rigid, radial-mount "monobloc" Nissin brake calipers and larger-diameter floating 310mm stainless-steel petal-type front rotors. The 2013 MY Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R also comes with optional ABS as well, which has been redesigned as well.

After the previous MY ZX-6R introduced a new, larger, 636cc engine, on the 2014 MY ZX-6R, Kawasaki continued with the same great engine and technology.

The 4-stroke, in-line four 636cc engine in this supersport produces a whopping 131 horsepower and 71 Nm of torque. And it comes with a power mode selector on the left clip-on, giving a choice between "full" and "low" engine power delivery mode.

The Showa Separate Function - Big Piston Fork (SFF-BP) was designed to provide smooth action during the initial part of the stroke and gives off a satisfying feeling during heavy braking.

The model is available for purchase with optional ABS.

Available only for US customers, the 2015 MY Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R sports a 636cc inline-four paired to a six-speed transmission that ensures a smooth and racey power delivery to the wheel.

On the tech side, it comes packed with the best Kawasaki has to offer. A three-mode selectable engine power mode ensures that the rider will have the optimum amount of power delivered. A three-mode KTRC makes traction possible even if the elements have left their mark on the road. Also, a F.C.C. clutch means less clutch slippage when accelerating and the "slipper" function minimizes wheel chatter associated with aggressive downshifting.

The model is available for purchase with optional ABS.
