The 2012 MY Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager is a muscular motorcycle designed specifically for long journeys, and which ensures comfort for both the rider and the potential passenger. With its 1700cc V-twin engine, capable of almost 74 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque, this new version of the Vulcan will surely make you take it across the continent, whatever that continent may be.

Besides its compact and upright ergonomics and all the full-dress amenities necessary to keep the rider and passenger comfortable, it also comes standard with the second generation Kawasaki Advanced Coactive-Braking Technology (K-ACT) ABS which is designed to distribute the ideal amount of brake pressure between the axles for maximum braking efficiency.

The new features on the 2012 MY are the Navigation Audio Prompt Capability and the Kawasaki Air Management System (KAMS).

2012 Kawasaki VN1700 Voyager Custom[edit | edit source]

The 2011 Kawasaki VN1700 Voyager Custom is the perfect bagger if you want to stand from the crowd: while packing a heap of modern technology, this bike is still shaped the old-school way, so you're going to turn a lot of heads.

From the smoked windscreen cowl to the rounded fat lines of the side-cases, and from the one-piece two-up seat to the full-length floorboards and extended shifter, the 2011 VN1700 Voyager Custom screams style. The rich dash sports analog gauges in the vein of the 1950's and a modern-era LCD screen and high-spec audio system.

Powerful coactive ABS brakes and electronic cruise control help the rider tame the 73 PS V-twin engine powering the 6-speed overdrive gearbox and belt drive. Lots of accessories are available to let you tune the bike the way you want.

2013 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager[edit | edit source]

The 2013 MY of the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager continues with the same four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four valve per cylinder, 52° V-twin engine which displaces 1700 cc of raw power leading to 73 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque.

It is great as a touring motorcycle, thanks to its more compact design, with reduced wheelbase and a smaller distance between the saddle and the front bars. Also, the electronic cruise control can be activated starting with 3rd gear, at speeds between 30 and 85 mph.

Another interesting feature in the 2013 MY Voyager is the on board diagnostics system; it self-tests all the electronic systems of the Vulcan, and if it detects a problem, it displays an alert on the dash board so the owner is warned and take measures to mend things.

The Voyager is also available for purchase with optional ABS.

True to the name "Voyager", it has been specifically designed for long hauls, with a large windshield to protect the rider and the passenger from the elements, and hard saddlebags to accommodate a lot of personal gear. 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS[edit | edit source]

The 2015 MY Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS combines the good looks of a classic motorcycle, with the functionality of a pure-bred touring one. Its massive 1700cc V-twin is capable of producing 73 horsepower and an impressive 136 Nm of torque while the six-speed transmission successfully transfers all that power to the wheel, and makes it great for relaxed and effortless longer rides.

If one is stuck in traffic in those hot summer days, the Kawasaki Air Management System (KAMS) will route away the heat from the engine, ensuring more comfort for the rider and the possible passenger.

The electronic cruise control will stay on even if one is engaged in an uphill climb, reducing rider fatigue and make the two-wheeler capable of even longer hauls.
