The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom was a v2, four-stroke Cruiser motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 2007 and 2019. Max torque was 58.2 ft/lbs (78.9 Nm) @ 3500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 46.94 HP (35.0 KW) @ 5700 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 88.0mm bore x 74.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 903.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 80/90-21 front tire and a 180/70-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. hydraulic. in the front and a single disc. hydraulic. in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm hydraulic telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a uni-trak swingarm, 7-way adjustable spring preload. The Vulcan 900 Custom was fitted with a 5.3 Gallon (20.06 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 610.9 pounds (277.1 Kg). The wheelbase was 64.8 inches (1646 mm) long.

2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom[edit | edit source]

Unlike its siblings, the 2011 Vulcan 900 Custom doesn't focus on a classic or a modern visual motif, but rather combines both in a visually-appealing way. The beefy rear tire complements the skinny front one harking back to the '70s choppers, while the arching high risers upon which the handlebars are mounted enhance the old-school looks. The cast alloy front rim and the raked-out forks add to the retro vibe, yet retaining a solid modern attire.

Performance-wise, the Vulcan 900 Custom has the same abilities as all the other bikes in its Vulcan 900 family. Kawasaki's main concern in this model appears to deliver a bike with authentic custom looks, even though the price tag is far from what a real custom job would set you back with.

2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom[edit | edit source]

The 2014 MY Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom comes available either in a two-tone, metallic flat platinum gray/ flat ebony paint, or a candy lime green with flame vinyls on the fuel tank and fenders. It also has matte blacked-out engine accents, frame and beefy slash-cut dual mufflers, which add to the visual appeal of the Vulcan.

The cast wheels are also black, and Kawasaki chose a big 21" front wheel with 9 twin spokes that add an extra dash of street-pro credit, and a chunky solid-look rear wheel, shod with a 180mm wide tire.

The model is available for purchase only in the USA.

As far as we know, there is a Special Edition version available for purchase in Canada.

2015 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom[edit | edit source]

The 2015 MY Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom sports a smooth 903cc V-twin capable of producing 50 horsepower and a whopping 106 Nm of torque. The five-speed manual transmission has a belt drive that eliminates the hassle that usually comes with chain final drives.

It comes standard with black cast aluminum rims. The overall look of the bike is stunning, with black accents all over the bodywork and the flame vinyl on the fuel tank and the fenders give it a custom, one-of-a-kind look.

The model is available for purchase only in the USA.
