The Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja was a Four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, inline-four Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 1995 and 2009. It could reach a top speed of 160 mph (258 km/h). Max torque was 52.37 ft/lbs (71.0 Nm) @ 11500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 131.02 HP (97.7 KW) @ 14000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled Four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, inline-four. A 66.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 599.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a Chain transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiple-disc coil spring.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-ZR17 front tire and a 180/55-ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 300mm petal rotors with dual radial-mounted, four-piston, four-pad calipers in the front and a Single 220mm petal rotor with single-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41 mm inverted Showa Big Piston Front fork with top-out springs, stepless compression and rebound damping, fully-adjustable spring preload / 4.7 in. while the rear was equipped with a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak® with gas-charged shock, top-out spring and pillow ball upper mount, dual-range (high/low-speed) stepless compression damping, 25-way adjustable rebound damping, fully-adjustable spring preload / 5.3 in.. The ZX-6R Ninja was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 354.94 pounds (161.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.

1995 - 2002 Kawasaki ZX-6R[edit | edit source]

Available in numerous colors, including ebony, lime green, flat sonic black and titanium silver with tribal graphics, the ZX-6R is a Kawasaki motorcycle which could run with almost 250 km/h.

The 2003 model of the Kawasaki ZX-6R could be seen in multiple colors including candy lightning blue, passion red and galaxy silver. In the last few years, the parent company improved the motorcycle a lot, equipping with DFI with four 38 mm Keihin throttle bodies, oval sub-throttles, two injectors per throttle body as well as with many new things.

Kawasaki released in 2005 a brand new ZX-6R sports bike. The model underwent major modifications and as direct result the price was a bit higher than previous models. This model saw a completely redesigned fairing with a more round and efficient shape and with integrated turn signals, the frame and swingarm were updated, while the engine received 1000 rpms more, delivering now 113 hp at 12250 rpm and the exhaust was moved in a central position under the seat.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a Kawasaki middleweight sport bike. It was introduced in 1995 and has been constantly updated throughout the years in response to new products from Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha. The ZX series is what was known as the Ninja line of Kawasaki motorcycles in the 1980s and still carries the moniker in North America today. The 2009 ZX-6 R received a large amount of upgrades and tweaks such as a revised fame, a revised engine, a more bulky swingarm and a weight reduction of about 10 kilos.
