The Norton Commando 961 Sport Mk II was a twin, four-stroke standard produced by Norton between 2010 and 2019. Max torque was 66.38 ft/lbs (90.0 Nm) @ 5200 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 78.32 HP (58.4 KW) @ 6500 RPM.

The engine was a air cooled twin, four-stroke. A 88.0mm bore x 79.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 961.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a pushrods.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-plate hydraulic lifter.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. brembo system, twin semi-floating hi carbon stainless steel discs, brembo 4 piston “gold line” axial callipers. abs. in the front and a single disc. brembo system, 2 piston “gold line” calliper. abs. in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm ohlins rwu - adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping while the rear was equipped with a twin-sided steel swing arm. ohlins reservoir-style twin shocks - adjustable ride height, preload, compression. The Commando 961 Sport Mk II was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 414.47 pounds (188.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.
