The Piaggio MP3500ie Business was a single cylinder, four-stroke scooter produced by Piaggio between 2007 and 2017. It could reach a top speed of 88 mph (142 km/h). Max torque was 33.56 ft/lbs (45.5 Nm) @ 5000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 39.29 HP (29.3 KW) @ 7250 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 94.0mm bore x 71.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 493.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a automatic transmission. Power was moderated via the automatic dry centrifugal.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-13 front tire and a 140/70-14 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs in the front and a single disc. abs in the rear. The front suspension was a articulated quadrilateral while the rear was equipped with a double action hydraulic shock absorber with adjustable spring preload to 4 positions. The MP3500ie Business was fitted with a 3.17 Gallon (12.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 576.95 pounds (261.7 Kg). The wheelbase was 61.02 inches (1550 mm) long.

In 2006, Piaggio invented a new category in motorcycling with this three wheeled leaning scooter. The MP3 500 is capable of about 145 Km (90 mph). The Paggio MP3’s 500cc four-stroke motor is typical of scooters – the power is flat and unexciting due to the auto transmission, and the extra weight compared with a conventional scooter takes a toll on acceleration and top speed.
