The 2012 MY Piaggio MP3 Touring LT 500 I.E. has been designed to comply with requisites for a specific type approval class, making it one of the few scooters that may be ridden with a standard passenger car license. This has been achieved through various modifications, such as a widened, 465mm, front track, motorcycle-type turn indicators, a daylight running light integrated in the lower part of the leg and internal braking, which allows both front and rear brakes to be applied at the same time, from a brake pedal on the foot rest.

In all other aspects, it has the same features and parts as a normal Touring 500 I.E.
