The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, 90°-V-twin, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder.. The engine featured a 11.3:1 compression ratio.

Power was moderated via the Wet, multiple discs, hydraulic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/80 R19 front tire and a 150/70 R17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 310mm discs, 2 piston calipers in the front and a Single 260 mm disc, 1 piston caliper. in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic, coil spring, oil damped, 43mm forks while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm, coil spring, oil damped, adjustable for preload and rebound damping. The DL1000 V-Strom Grand Touring was fitted with a 22 Liters / 5.8 US gal / 4.8 Imp gal fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1535 mm / 60.4 in long.
