Overview[edit | edit source]

Suzuki DL 250X V-Strom

The V-Strom 250 boasts Suzuki’s frugal-yet-punchy 248cc parallel twin engine, delivering 23.4Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, with peak power of 25PS delivered at 8,000rpm. However, the new V-Strom’s trump card is its efficiency, with the twin cylinder engine capable of achieving 88.28mpg. Designed to excel on the urban commute as well as a continental adventure, the V-Strom 250 gets a useful, full LCD dash, displaying a fuel gauge, average fuel consumption, gear position indicator, two trip meters, odometer, oil change notification, tacho, speedo, and a clock. Adding protection from the elements on longer journeys is an extensively wind tunnel-tested screen and bodywork, while adding practicality is a range of accessories, including three-piece luggage, hand guards, and centre stand. Designed to Perform The V-Strom 250 is equally at home in city traffic as the open road. This new model delivers plenty of power and easy to control low to mid-range torque. Built for Adventure Suzuki’s V-Strom series has won the hearts of riders around the world and established itself as one of the leading names in the adventure motorcycle segment since the V-Strom 1000 debuted in 2002 and the V-Strom 650 joined the line-up in 2004. Suzuki now brings the same excitement, riding pleasure and adventure versatility to a broader audience; riders who are buying their first motorcycle, riders returning to two wheels after a long absence, riders looking for a more manageable lightweight machine and many others too.

Maximum Acceleration The cam profile for the V-Strom 250 delivers maximum acceleration performance at speeds between 12mph to 55mph, as this is the range that is used most often. As an additional benefit, the cam profile also suppresses noise generation to deliver a smoother, more pleasant ride. Highly efficient, lightweight exhaust system The two-into-one exhaust system for the V-Strom 250 features an optimized shape for the chamber in front of the catalyser. This maximises acceleration performance at mid-range speeds, while the efficiency of the system also reduces exhaust emissions. The silencer adopts a shape that contributes to better engine output and torque by reducing power loss. It delivers a pleasing sound while its design also contributes to better cornering. New V-Strom Engine The 248cc parallel twin engine that powers the V-Strom 250 has undergone thorough analysis and optimisation to maximize low- to mid-range torque and provide a powerful ride that features ease of control. The overall efficiency achieved also helps realise high levels of fuel economy and clean performance. With a full tank of fuel, the V-Strom 250 has a riding range of over 310 miles.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes The flair of newly designed 10-spoke wheels pairs with tires that provide strong grip on the road. Stopping power is provided by petal-type front and rear disc brakes. An Antilock Brake System (ABS)¹ made by Bosch is also equipped to deliver yet greater confidence and control. Accessory – Luggage The V-Strom also features dedicated mounting clips to accommodate the optional accessory side cases for a truly integrated design. There is also a large aluminum rear carrier (8.5kg maximum capacity) that is perfect for mounting extra items you wish to carry, it’s fitted with hooks for attaching straps and this unit can also be used for attaching the optional accessory top case too. Adventure Packed The V-Strom 250 protects its rider from the elements with a compact windscreen that benefits from repeated wind tunnel testing to optimise its shape, providing highly effective shielding for a more comfortable ride.
