Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Two stroke, single cylinder, crank case reed valve. The engine featured a 6.6:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Wet, multi-plate, mechanical cable.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 100/80-17, tubeless front tire and a 130/70-17, tubeless rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 265 mm disc, 4 piston caliper in the front and a Single 181 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic, spring while the rear was equipped with a Crescent light alloy swing arm, mono-shock. The RG200 Gamma was fitted with a 14.5 Liters / 3.8 US gal / 3.2 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 125 kg / 275 lbs. The wheelbase was 1355 mm / 53.3 in long.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Suzuki RG 200 Gamma

The Suzuki RG200 Gamma was basically a RG125F Gamma with a larger engine. Even the gear ratios are exactly the same. Except for the piston displacement and power output (35 ps instead of 22 ps) the only differencies between the 125cc and the 200cc versions are that the RG200 gamma has a little larger rear tire and the chassis and the suspension seems to be injusted for the larger engine. The overall length of the bike is somewhat shorter than the 125 and the 200 is even a bit lower than its little brother.

Much more power but only slightly more weight. The RGV250 Gamma of the time offered much more but the single-cylinder RG200 Gamma was a cheap alternative to the rather expensive V-twin.
