The Suzuki SV 1000SZ SPECIAL EDITION was a Four stroke, V-twin, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled Naked motorcycle produced by Suzuki in 2006. Max torque was 75.24 ft/lbs (102.0 Nm) @ 7200 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 126.73 HP (94.5 KW) @ 9000 RPM. It could reach a top speed of 229.7 km/h / 142.7 mph.

The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, 90° V-twin, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 11.6:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the Wet, multiple discs, cable operated.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 310 mm Discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 220 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 46 mm Telescopic fork, cartridge-type, adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, 7-way preload, compression and rebound damping adjustable. The SV1000SZ Special Edition was fitted with a 17 Liters / 4.5 US gal / 3.7 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 185 kg / 407.8 lbs. The wheelbase was 1435 mm / 56.5in long.

Overview[edit | edit source]
Suzuki has launched a special edition of the SV1000 V-twin to celebrate the 20th year of the iconic GSX-R series of sports bikes. The SV1000SZ has a full fairing designed to match the bodywork of the new GSX-R1000 K5 and painted in the signature blue and white of the big sports fours. The frame, swing-arm and wheels are all black, as on the K5, rather than silver like the standard half-faired SV1000S. The compression ratio of the 996cc V-twin has been raised from 11.3 to 11.6:1 to deliver an extra 3.7kW and the engine mapping has been re-tuned for quicker throttle response The frame, swing-arm and wheels are all black rather than silver like the standard SV1000S.
