The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 81.0mm bore x 62.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 645.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/80-r19 front tire and a 150/70-r17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs in the front and a single disc. abs in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic, coil spring, oil damped while the rear was equipped with a link type, coil spring, oil damped. The V-Strom 650 GTA was fitted with a 5.28 Gallon (20.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 469.58 pounds (213.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 61.42 inches (1560 mm) long.
