2000 Triumph Speed Triple 955[edit | edit source]

Based on the Daytona 955, the 1999 MY Triumph Speed Triple 955 brings sportbike-like performance in a bare-minimum, lighter package, for riders who like their bikes to be more do, less talk. And even so, the 955 still has quite much to show. The chassis and engine have been derived from the Daytona, but the lines and curves of the tank and seat seam to blend perfectly with the frankensteined chassis, giving the Speed Triple an elegant, proper British look that inspires durability.

The two-wheeler sports a 955cc powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission and produces 110 horsepower and 97 Nm of torque. Handling-wise, it corners rather well, the only obvious problem being that it has a high seat height, and can inconvenience shorter riders when it comes to slow-speed cornering.

With a raw, aggressive styling and a powerful 955cc powerplant, the 2001 MY Triumph Speed Triple 955 is a preferred choice among fans of powerful, durable, British-built naked bikes. Capable of producing 110 horsepower and 97 Nm of torque, it is a good choice for weekend outings across the motorway but, just as easily, it can be taken out to the track to get the adrenaline pumping.

Borrowing its chassis and engine from the Daytona 955, it is capable of superbike like performance, in a slightly lighter package. Available in black or bright green, with black engine accents, it is sure to stand out in a crowd.
