The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 73.0mm bore x 56.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

It came with a 120/70-13 front tire and a 140/60-14 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a dual shock. The Xpeed-250i was fitted with a 2.9 Gallon (10.97 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 363.1 pounds (164.7 Kg). The wheelbase was 57.01 inches (1448 mm) long.
