The Vespa GTS300 SuperSport was a single cylinder, four-stroke scooter produced by Vespa between 2009 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 80 mph (128 km/h). Max torque was 16.23 ft/lbs (22.0 Nm) @ 5000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 20.65 HP (15.4 KW) @ 7750 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 75.0mm bore x 63.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 278.3 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a automatic transmission. Power was moderated via the automatic dry centrifugal clutch with vibration dampers.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-12 front tire and a 130/70-12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. abs. hydraulic. in the front and a single disc. abs. hydraulic. in the rear. The front suspension was a single arm, dual chamber hydraulic shock absorber with coaxial spring while the rear was equipped with a two dual effect shock absorbers with adjustable preload. The GTS300 SuperSport was fitted with a 2.25 Gallon (8.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 348.33 pounds (158.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 54.13 inches (1375 mm) long.

The 2009 Vespa GTS 300 Super has the largest displacement engine ever to be built by the Italian engineers, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 278cc, single cylinder lump paired to a continuously variable transmission, and can produce 22 horsepower and 22 Nm of torque. It comes standard with a two-up seat, and passenger grab handles, which mean it can be enjoyed even two up. In addition, it can be customized to fit the rider's needs, thanks to a wide variety of accessories, such as the high windscreen, an electronic alarm, a footrest mat, a front mudguard protector, an anti-theft device or the vehicle cover.

Unlike the base GTS 300, the 2010 MY Vespa GTS 300 Super has a number of visual touches that significantly increase its desirability, such as the chromed accents on the front shield, the blacked pinstripe surrounding the headlamp, as well as the black accents on the wheels and the gray stitching on the spacious dual seat.

In all other departments, it shares the same innards, technologies and parts as the base GTS 300, such as the powerful (in the scooter world), liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 278cc, single cylinder Quasar engine.
