The Yamaha GX 250 was a Four stroke parallel twin-cylinder OHC 2 valve per cylinder Classic motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 1979. Claimed horsepower was 24.94 HP (18.6 KW) @ 9500 RPM.

A 55.9mm bore x 55.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 248.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.00-18 front tire and a 3.25-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single disc in the front and a Single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Dual shocks.

It was the first Yamaha 4-stroke 250cc model. Compared to the 400, its tire size was only one size smaller and the chassis parts were quite the same.
