The Yamaha MR50 was a single cylinder, two-stroke standard produced by Yamaha in 1980. It could reach a top speed of 62 mph (100 km/h).

The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 40.0mm bore x 39.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters.

Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc.

It came with a 2.50-18-4pr front tire and a 3.00-16-4pr rear tire.
