The Yamaha RX100 was a single cylinder, two-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1985 and 1990. It could reach a top speed of 78 mph (125 km/h). Max torque was 6.34 ft/lbs (8.6 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 11.26 HP (8.4 KW) @ 7500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 50.0mm bore x 50.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 100.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the 74 tooth clutch housing bell.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2/18-4pr front tire and a 3/18-4pr rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic oil damped while the rear was equipped with a coil spring oil damped. The RX100 was fitted with a 2.77 Gallon (10.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 218.26 pounds (99.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 0.04 inches (1 mm) long.
1985 - 1996 Yamaha RX 100[edit | edit source]
The Yamaha RX 100 was known for its straight design, which had the fuel tank and seat aligned on the same level. The seat was kept straight in order to provide the most comfortable ride possible at the time of its launch. Use of chrome was in fashion at that time and both the front and rear mudguards were fully chromed. The Yamaha and RX 100 badge was also chrome plated.
