The Yamaha Raptor 700R SE was a single cylinder, four-stroke ATV produced by Yamaha between 2006 and 2019.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 102.0mm bore x 84.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 686.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate clutch.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 22/7-10 front tire and a 22/10-9 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. twin piston caliper in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a independent double wishbone w/piggy back with high/low speed compression, rebound and threaded preload adjustment while the rear was equipped with a cast aluminum swingarm, w/piggy back with high/low speed compression, rebound and threaded preload adjustment. The Raptor 700R SE was fitted with a 2.91 Gallon (11.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 395.95 pounds (179.6 Kg). The wheelbase was 50.39 inches (1280 mm) long.

The engine felt very strong and had plenty of power in all situations. The nature of the riding area was that most riding was 2nd and 3rd gear with a some short stretches where you could open it up and let 'er rip. We did not have anything else to compare it with on our first ride but the new Raptor should have no problem running with (or leaving behind) any of the other big bore sport quads.

The 2008 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE came into being to meet the needs of those who felt like killer exclusive looks are just as important as the power and maneuverability of the big Raptor. Retaining all the glorious features of the base model, the 700R SE brings neat aesthetic improvements, such as black aluminum rims, special edition frame paint and bodywork graphics, a two-tone seat and upgraded exhaust.
