The Yamaha YZF-R1 LE Canada Edition was a liquid-cooled, 20-valve, DOHC, in-line four-cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 2006.

A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 998.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/50 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via ual 320mm discs; radial-mount forged 4-piston calipers in the front and a 220mm disc w/single-piston pin-slide caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins custom-valved fully adjustable inverted fork with 2-way compression damping adjustments while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins custom-valved fully adjustable rear shock with hydraulic preload adjuster and 2 -way compression damping adjustment. The wheelbase was 55.71 inches (1415 mm) long.
2006 Yamaha YZF-R1 LE Canada Edition[edit | edit source]
The name says pretty much everything: the 2005 YZF-R1 LE Canada Edition is a special, limited run of a special livery which was made available only for the Canadian market. This exclusive edition of the R1 received multiple aftermarket parts and was turned into a special breed of beast.
Canadian R1 fans who were able to claw this bike enjoyed the Marchesini wheels, Ohlins suspensions developed especially for this model, and a back-torque limiter slipper clutch, all atop the revisions the base version of the R1 had already gotten.
