The Yamaha YZF-R6 50th Anniversary was a Liquid cooled, 4-stroke, forward inclined inline 4 cylinder, DOHC, 16-titanium valves Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 2006.

A 66.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 599.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70ZR-17 front tire and a 180/55ZR-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 310mm floating discs w/radial mount, forged 4-piston calipers in the front and a 220mm disc w/single-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm inverted telescopic fork w/adjustable preload, seperate high & low-speed compression damping, rebound damping; 4.7 in. travel while the rear was equipped with a Single shock w/adjustable preload, seperate high & low-speed compression damping, rebound damping; 4.7 in. travel. The wheelbase was 54.49 inches (1384 mm) long.
2006 Yamaha YZF-R6 50th Anniversary[edit | edit source]
As Yamaha celebrates its 50th anniversary, it was only natural the a special edition R6 bike was designed. It shares the same livery of its bigger R1 sibling, with bright yellow mixed with sober black and white accents, all in a racey attire which will surely make heads turn.
The YZF-R6 50th Anniversary also brings forth the exclusive Electronic Throttle Control, EXUP exhaust system, the back-torque limiter slipper clutch and the MotoGP-derived frame with top-drawer aerodynamics for even better performance on both track and roads.
