I agree, and have always said that any law to protect me from myself is wrong. Having said that I have been on crutches for the last 3 1/2 weeks due to serious gravel rash and a torn ligament in my left calf. The helmet and face shield were pretty well beat up and my face and left cheek were rather skinned up, but I hate to think of the damage that would have occured as my head bounced along the concrete without them. 85 sq. in. of scabs but only small scuffs on my face (where the face shield popped off) convinced me to continue to wear mine. No serious head injury, although I was unconsciious for a bit. Sure wish I had worn my leather gloves!
I'm 66 years old and have been riding since I was 12, with only a couple of mishaps. (this was the worst). Hate helmet laws, but continue to wear one. Some years ago a woman legislator in Ohio (Cleveland area) tried to get a seat belt law passed for motorcycles! (Imagine!)
Cheers...J J

I was in grand forks during our long weekend, some wore helmets and some did not. i don't know if G.F has a law or not....I think certain medical conditions can be an exemption for not wearin a helmet. But that sounds dumb, helmets are used for a reason. But 2 year ago i saw guy get killed on a bike. he was wearing a helmet, but it was his fault. He had a bit of road rae, and used exessive speed. I was a wittness to the accident, so were others, and the info was all the same. It was the bikers fault.

There should be strict laws for use of helmets universally ..i have seen in asian countries that people use helmets just for the checks by the cops and sometimes they dont even care about them..and ride the bikes without helmets
