Default 1982 Honda CB750K DOHC questions

Sorry for the simple questions. However, I just bought a 1982 Honda CB750K DOHC motorcycle and have a few questions.

1. What is the recommended oil for this bike?

2. Does the transmission, motor and clutch all share the same oil? (I know that may be a funny question for anyone with more experience than me.)

3. Does the seat swing up the way they do on the older CB750's? I have managed to miss the release somehow.

4. I can't seem to get the forks to lock. I tried pushing and turning the key but no luck so far. Is there a special trick?

5. I understand the "lock", "off" and "on" positions for the key. However, what is "p". Sorry for the dumb question.

I got a good deal on the bike. (It was checked out by a knowledgeable friend.) However, I'm familiarizing myself with as much as possible. I'm going to be taking the MSF class shortly and I'm waiting to try the bike on the road until after the class. I'm trying to get to know the bike as much as I can and trying it out in my yard.

Thanks and sorry for the noob questions :) ,
James

1. Probably 10w-40, that's fairly standard for bikes. Read this page before buying oil. http://www.motorcycleanchor.com/moto...to/mc_oil.html

2. Yes sir it does.

3. I believe it does. Look for a keyed lock close to the seat.

4. Try turning them the whole way to the left or right. If not the fork lock may be broken.

5.The "P" is for park so the parking lights will stay on. Yeah, it' fairly useless.

And easy to accidentally turn to and then find the battery dead after a long day at work.

as far as the seat thing, on my 81 CB750C, the only way i can get underneath the seat is to take the two back bolts off. where my sissy bar was connected. they're right above the rear shocks. if there is a button to release the seat, i couldn't find it. hope that helps a little. :)
